I went to a cigar party at an old friend of mine’s house the other night and decided to bring along a couple of e cigars. First a little background on me and my friends. I am just a regular guy who lives in a house I can actually afford and drives a car that is paid for. A 1998 Chevy Blazer with 98,000 miles on the odometer. I grew up in a wealthy neighborhood with a father who was just a regular guy, so I learned early on the putting on heirs is a lousy way to live. My friend on the other hand is all about showing off his money and his mansion. He really is a terrific person one on one but get him around the boys from the country club and his is like a completely different person.

Me and a couple of other guys were shooting pool when I broke out the e cigars and they all looked at me like I was crazy. I passed them around and told them all about the vapor and that there is no smoke at all even though the cigars put out so many vapors it makes it seem like smoke. Everyone was really impressed and from the 10 people at the party I ended up with 25 orders for electronic cigars by the end of the night. The funny thing about the whole situation is that I learned that even their “trophy” wives control whether or not these high powered guys are allowed to smoke in the house. I am sure they control a lot more than any of those guys would care to admit, but at least now they will be able to smoke their cigars in their own homes and unless their wives actually see them doing it they will probably never know.

The electronic cigar just like the e cigarettes are completely odorless won’t stink up your house, car, or body like tobacco. Next time I will probably bring some pipes.

I started this blog because I have a store that sells e cigarettes, e cigars, and e pipes. But more than that I wanted to be able to share my journey from smoking for 25 + years to enjoying a smoke free lifestyle with everyone who wants to come along for the journey. We all know how hard it is to quit smoking, and when you have been smoking as long as I have the task almost seems impossible.

In October 2007 I thought I had enough and went out a bought the patch again for the 5^th time and decided that this was finally it for me. Well 3 weeks later I was completely back to smoking 2 packs a day. I really can’t even begin to tell you how frustrating that is for me. I get great encouragement from my wife and kids but somehow I just can’t seem to kick the habit.

In January 2008 I found a product called the electronic cigarette and thought that it might be the answer to my prayers. I bought the kit and refills, but still had 5 cartons of cigarettes left from my trip to Albuquerque. That doesn’t make a lot of sense but I bought them there for 35.00 a carton compared to 40.00 a carton here where I live in Mesa Arizona. And I just found out that the state is raising the tax on cigarettes again so it will be even higher very soon.

Between the electronic cigarette and the regular one I have left I have really just been splitting usage so far, but that will change soon. I will be completely switched over to e cigarettes in the very near future, and they have already made a very positive impact on my life which I will share in future posts.
